Fireplace in the FALL

A fireplace can be many things…..warm & cozy:

or it can be light & calming:

ahhhhh – breathe – relax (GET your shoes off my new clean ottoman!) I adore the white slipcovers & the ruffles – oh darlin!

However - below is more my real style (at least for now) – kinda rustic – kinda sturdy – kinda comfy – kinda vintage-y:

How about a storage bench alongside the fireplace to hold firewood, matches, etc. I want to find some old skis!

That’s what I’ve tried to do here at the no. cottage:

I had this open spot next to my fireplace (I didn’t know what to do with it – it just seemed to get junked up with the fire-making supplies) until I thought to add a great {old} bookcase to (get this - snagged this bookcase at an auction for $2.50 – yeah score!)

Now we have a place to store our split wood, matches, extra blankets to curl up with. The shelf fits this spot like a glove – it is supposed to be there! I have a faux built in (for $2.50) – by accident - can’t beat that!

And I’ve added this chair to this post for no particular reason – other than I like it!
