Here is the before – rather blah.
The basket was functional & good for storing the extra blankets, etc. in the family room to snuggle up with during family movie night but not very interesting to view.
So I decided to give it some personality…….
I took out my handy dandy black craft paint & started stenciling out No. 4448 {our house numbers}
Only we had a little problem……
the BLACK craft paint actually came out hunter green (with a bit of puke green mixed in –yes, very pretty!)
&
the paint was running & not sticking to the glossy weave of the basket.
What is a girl to do? Hmmmm
So I took out my supreme artist’s tool – the SHARPIE!
And here is the result:
Added a quick bit of Northern Cottage style in a jif.
Happy Monday everybody!!

Good idea. I hate it when paint does that. :-)
ReplyDeleteSharpie is my friend too....love how your basket turned out! I need to paint some numbers on stuff so I can be cool too :o) Think my kids will mind if I use their foreheads?
ReplyDeleteDont you just love baskets!! Everything always looks "together" in a basket!!

great looking basket made even better with the numbers, I am gonna just have to get me some numbers, they are so nifty...thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThe numbers look great! I recently painted and distressed a new canoe paddle to look old and painted our anniversary, 725, on it. Our family visiting today for Thanksgiving had fun guessing the significance of the numbers.
ReplyDeleteVery cute - and what a great way to turn things around!
ReplyDeleteI just put numbers on my front door. Loving numbers right now. that was a clever fix.
ReplyDeleteOh how I love a numbered basket, great tip to use the sharpie!
