Headboard Fake {Faux for fancy}

As you can see in the photos below…we don’t have an official real headboard…..we’ve always just faked it with pillows and stuff.

Here is what I put up when we first moved here:

Never was really in love with…it was fine but seemed a bit…I don’t know…dinky (&, it seems, looks worse in this photo!)

So with autumn in the air – I decided to try another option.

I used stuff I already had

    • A creamy white shutter {turned on its side}
    • with some ribbon strung through the slats and tied in the back

Hung this on the existing nail from the stuff I took down

and

Tied the wreath onto the front of the shutter

Then I had the nail peeking out over the top (where I hung the ribbon/shutter from)

So I grabbed a vintage doorknob from my little collection

And popped it over the top of the nail

I’m digging it!

  2. Love it! I'm doing something similar on top of my bed, since I don't have a headboard either. We shall see whether mine works out or not :)
