Painted Paneling

One of my very best-est girlfriends has a wonderful old farmhouse which I not so secretly want for my own.

She thinks I’m a little crazy in that while she sees the broken drawers or the bathroom that needs re-doing (a.k.a. - a lot of work)

I see….

patina

and

character

and

charm, charm, charm

She took her kitchen from oh….  to oh MY!

Picture this:

Creamy cabinets and beadboard all around

creamy curvy platters hung on the wall

and old stove just for pretty

(I’ll try to sneak over and get some before and after pictures to share!)

Her current project is redoing her dining room area that opens up into that creamy lovely kitchen.

It has wood paneling….lots and lots of wood paneling.

something maybe like this (note - this is NOT her home!)

I think I’ve got her convinced to paint it and I’m trying to share with her some ideas of what it could look like.

OR this beauty

I hope these will swoon her and persuade her to let me come over and help her wield her paintbrush and give these painting muscles a workout!

P.S. Next up after we’re done with the dining room is something like this baby for that bathroom re-do (someday):

  1. You have me convinced! But then again, I'm a sucker for painted anything. I sure do think your photos will help make your point and have her racing for paint samples!

  4. We have painted paneling in our home. My husband chose the color and although I'm not in love with his color choice it looks so much better than the wood paneling!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog! I'd love to see what you do with your finished tea towel!
