YUM Scrub

This weekend I put together some

Yummy Hand Scrub

simply using:

* SUGAR

* DISHSOAP

* A DASH OF MULLING SPICE {optional - for a yummy cozy smell!!}

* A few drops of FOOD COLORING {optional}

and

* PRETTY JARS {not optional!}

Mix it all together…

TIP - I found through trial and error that I like to start by measuring the jar I’m using and fill it almost to the top with sugar and then dump that into a bowl along with a bit of the dish soap and spices to the consistency of your liking for good mixing power.

Once totally mixed…it goes cleanly (not like in photos above!)
into the FRESH jar
without worrying about a mess or
getting every little nook and cranny into the mix.
I added 3 drops of food coloring to this batch just to make it a
pretty pink color.

ahh…much better

(I LOVE these cute little canning jars – they are so darling!)

Decorate the tops and throw on a bit of ribbon and you’re done (ready to enjoy or give as gifts!)

Stopping by from Tip Junkie. Love it! Where do you get the tiny canning jars? I've never seen them that small before!

These are very cute! I made jars of sugar hand and body scrub for my boys' teachers for Christmas. This recipe looks so quick and easy. Great tutorial!

Hmmmmm, could you do this with a nice smelling hand soap or body gel from Bath & Body Works and leave out the mulling spice? I love this idea. I'm trying to figure out how out to get a nice "spring" scent and wondered if the other scented soaps/body gels would work just as well with the sugar. What do you think?

Thanks!!!

I just made this for my daughter's pre school teacher. It was way easy! I got my jars at walmart and didnt add the mulling spice because I liked the scent of the soap I used. Great and easy present idea!!! Thanks for sharing:)

I love this idea, I have a few questions,1) Can you change the scent? 2) does the food coloring stain if you use too much of the finished product? 3)does it matter what kind of sugar you use? Thank you for your time!

Hey, I found this recipe on TipJunkie, and I have a question... Do you know the proportions you use? I don't know what scrubs are supposed to be like :-) Can you email me with the answer?

I like the jars, very cute and easy to reach into. My bodyscrub is almond or olive oil with brown sugar and some essential oil like lavender or orange...scrubs and moisturizes:-)
