copy of a copy of a copy???

I thought it might be
FUN
to
copy
Miss Mustard Seed’s
copy
of
Miss Funky Junk

Here’s is the inspiration photo
MMS’s version of FJI
style:

 005 copy[1]

PRETTY FANTASTIC, EH?

So I thought I’d give it a shot -
Here’s my take
of the same display:

DSC04742

MMS outlined a few key features -

layers of texture including TWIGGY goodness

DSC04755

While I didn’t have a perfect chippy old door with rusty hinges – I used an old headboard with a shutter added to the front
for some substance:

 DSC04742

I included an old shoe form… mine is already patina-ed metal:

 DSC04756

MMS included family photos for extra
personality and history.

Mine are tucked in the bristles of this old hand broom

DSC04772
the broom belonged to my grandfather…

photos of his mother (my namesake) are in the background
{she came to America and settled her Michigan farmstead in 1889}

DSC04774

MMS added an antique fan for some funky-junk shine
(rust included at no extra cost!)
Yep all the way!!

note the antique box, twine, hinges and pinecones

Ruler and Scissors – check, check!:

home 039

Instead of a meat grinder - I displayed some mini clamps
and a metal

thing-a-ma-bob
(not sure what it actually is but
I used it to hold the ruler/level and the vintage scissors!):

Typography that is near and dear to all of our hearts:

You can see mine on my great-grandmother’s iron:

DSC04764

I didn't have any bolts either

so used some old rusty tools

DSC04773

PINECONE anyone?

MMS’s CRATE with great lettering:

mmmm I love the combination of rustic crate with soft linens!

DSC04750

Feed sack pillows and a wool throw:

DSC04751

{Some other little details}

** vintage books to hold the clock
(I love the title of the top one ‘WHAT TO HAVE FOR DINNER’
- same age old question yesterday as today!):

DSC04758

**a great old wooden stool
this was in my home growing up
this baby has layers and layers and layers of paint.

{I wonder how many times I watched my mom step on this stool to grab an item off the top pantry shelf when I was little?}

So..
how did I do makin’ a
copy of a copy
???!!??

Please note that [No animals were harmed - err I mean –] no junk or accessories were purchased in the
replication of this replication!

I don’t know if that is a good thing or not…is it good that I didn’t have to go out and buy anything or troublesome that I actually had all this stuff stashed away here and there?)

Hope y’all enjoyed this
copy

  1. Holy amazing copy! I'm impressed. I would say it would be disturbing if all that stuff wasn't so cool. But it is cool, so I am not disturbed--just jealous!

Honestly, this is really fabulous! And I'm really loving the pillows and blanket in the crate idea. I totally want to steal that. :)
