I recently shared our
cozy winter nest
(check out the BEFORES in the post here)
And now I’d love to share with you some
springtime freshness
with some AFTER shots..
Warning – this is a long post with lots of springtime images
so if you’re sad to see winter leaving…click away now.
(just kidding!)
-------------------------------
Here we go:
As for our currently snow covered yard outside…
this is ALL I have to say:
On with the AFTERS
now remember we have one big great room that includes the living, dining, kitchen and entry areas.
Here are some lightened up images from each:
Living Room
I’ve brought out a collection of flower frogs for display
little bits of green succulent trying to poke out of this
vintage cheesebox/planter
layers of nests here and there
Near our Fireplace
shall we go on a picnic?
or water some flowers?
I always love to see a line up of locker baskets
just changing out the dark brown cozy drapes to the
new creamy lighter drapes made a WORLD of difference in the feel of the room
our new spring mantel
on the other side of the room
I slipcovered our curvy chair
I love me some ruffles and this
new slipcover adds just the right amount
added an extra pillow with a vintage brooch
for some “bling”
it can still be pretty chilly here so we HAVE to have extra cuddly throws nearby but now in a lighter softer color
and extra cozy texture
more pillows added here and there
added this vintage wood ladder to show off some
{burlap, canvas and ruffles}
and soften the wall space here
I love mixing the soft ruffles with the
rusty metal scrollwork
a chippy perfectly colored step ladder (now side table)
in shades of robins egg blue {with hints of red, black, white, etc.}
on top of the tv -
a silver tray with vintage glass doorknobs:
some fresh new art
and some white metal scrollwork
On the other side of the room our
cleared off and freshened buffet
a lighter lampshade with some floral softness
I’d like to introduce you to FRED the frog!
more fresh flowers on the coffee table tray
And in the dining room -
I’ve slipcovered the backs of the dining chairs
But I cheated…Wanna hear my trick here?
I used actual pillowcases with some added lace trim at the opening and slung them over the back of the chair.
It’s not for long term but it will do for now to freshen up the space!
Some tabletop freshening
nothing says ‘spring’ like fresh flowers
placed here and there, right?
Enjoy YOUR spring!

It looks great! Everything looks so cozy and fresh.

I am in complete love with that fireplace!
ReplyDeleteI'd love for you to decorate my mantel. Yours is gorgeous! Great collection of flower frogs, locker baskets (love) and vintage watering cans. I like how you've displayed them. They say it's good to decorate with collections for more impact than just placing one here and there. I like to do that with vintage clocks and I'm on the hunt for more fans. Your home is so cozy and beautiful! Always enjoy your take on things.
