Pile o’ PILLOWS

So I’ve been on a bit of a pillow

excursion

lately

Making pillow covers

check out the raggedy (totally intentional raggedyness) ruffle detail on this one that makes it a little less
stuffy
(ha ha -  you like that pun?):

and more

I have a secret to share about the pillow cover above…the linen cutie with the white polka dots.

Wanna know where that started?

It started out life as a package of napkins on clearance from our fav store with orangey red clearance stickers.

I simply washed them up,

home 079

ironed them,

pinned them right sides together on three sides

(leaving the top open)

home 077

cut a bit of vintage ribbon with my pinking shears
(to avoid fray action…)

and sewed these ribbons to the top

(hooray – didn’t have to worry about finishing this edge because it was already hemmed because they are NAPKINS, after all!)

home 080

plopped my pillow form in, tied up the ties and voila

home 082

and, of course, this other  addition to the pillow collection -

  flour sack pillow

so chic don’t you think? - or is it chick? ha!

And I’m just enjoying them so much!

Such an easy, inexpensive way to

make a room look

new for almost nothing!

  10. I think they are so chick... I mean chic :) Napkins and placemats make wonderful pillow slips. You can never have too many pillows or ruffles, in my opinion.

    Have a great night!
