Oranges & Cinnamon Rolls

I love a good orange in the winter time

home 006

I have a silly little trick that I use when cutting up oranges
(for the kiddos or for me)
that makes eating it
all the more enjoyable

home 007

You probably already do this

but I’ll show ya my trick anyway!

When you cut an orange – cut it in half like normal

but when you go to cut the wedges

place your knife just a little off-center

to the side of all the white stuff in the middle

home 008

tilt your knife to the left and cut your first wedge

keep on doing this bypassing the white stuff each time

until you get to your last wedge

flip this one on its side and cut away all the white stuff you’ve left behind

home 009

now when you bite into your wedges

it’s like a little

BURST of

SUNSHINE!!

home 010

with none of the bitter white middle stuff

home 011

To go with our oranges this morning, we whipped up some orange cinnamon rolls

just the packaged ones from the dairy section of your local supermarket

but to make them a bit more special I shaped them

into a heart!!

  11. Your post made me so hungry this morning. I too cut my oranges like that and they seem so much more juicy that way. And then you baked my families all time favorite orange rolls. My kids always love these orange rolls and have many great memories of eating them on "special occations". Thanks so much for making me remember all those great times.
