How to Make a WARM PACK (or soothing Cold Pack)!!

northern cottage toasty warm pack

Spring is approaching & I see many blogs posting about things turning green and blooming and blossoming

but here

I look out the window

and see

Beautiful – right?

but it is still…..COLD!!

So while many of you are skipping about in fresh new yummy green grass
{I hate you!}
and starting to dig in the dirt
{you stink!!}

we are shoveling, plowing and having hot cocoa
{I’d rather have lemonade!}

so… these little

are a welcome little treat after being out in the cold

home 001

I made them by stitching up a little bag

home 002

embroidering some

home 003

doing a bit of applique with some

pretty cute, huh?

Here’s another version with some fun ruffles

and I added some velco at the open end

home 008

to hold another little bag made from extra cotton that holds rice

home 014

which can be:
{heated up in the microwave for about 30+ seconds}
stored in the freezer for a soothing cold pack}

this project was inspired by this lovely lady!
{go visit her, too – you won’t be sorry!}

  1. Oh so Adorable and Most Certainly.... COZY!!! Love the Toast and Jam... :)

  2. OH MY! I love the toast and freakin' cute! And I'm with you, could use a little more sunshine and a little less cold weather!!

  3. These are so cute. I need one right now -- it's cold here!

  4. Such cute details on these! I make warming bags for massage therapists and I always use flax seed. It seems to hold the heat or cold much longer than rice...just an idea. Not something you need to do;)

  5. Very cute! Don't worry you're not the only one still with snow!

  6. Love these! I really like the toasty embroidery :) cute idea!

  7. We still have a blanket of the white stuff but I am weird and I love it; winter is my favorite season. This is such a cute idea and even I could make them...I think.

  8. I'm dropping by as The CSI Project guest judge this week. Adorable project. The toast and jam is the cutest thing ever. Great job.

  9. How sweet. Love the toast and jam one

  10. Oh, how cute is this idea??? I just pinned it for future reference!! Thanks so much for linking up last Thursday!

  11. This is so cute! I'd love for you to share this at Mix it up Monday:

    I hope to see you soon :)

  12. Why don't you already have 100s of comments saying how adorable this is? I am a fun of puns so 'mmm toasty' totally won me over. Seriously, adorable!

  13. I can't believe how cute this hot/cold pack is. Whenever I used one Mom would just cover it in a towel. Just how pretty it is would make one feel oh so more special and better. Love both of them, but I'm a sucker for ruffles, as long as they are not on me ! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration at Sunday's Best.

  14. I love these packs and mine is icky...I need a new one and I want one with toast on cute! Featuring this on Tickled Pink features (hopefully tomorrow- I am late)

  15. I love how you designed your packs :)

I {ADORE} your comments and read! ♥
