These bars are divine!!
and they have the bonus of using those
a little too ripe bananas
sitting on your counter
USE UP THOSE ‘NANNERS!!!
mmmmmm!!
Here’s the lowdown:
{I initially got the banana bar recipe from here}
– miss you darby!!
{YUMMY BANANA BARS}
1/2 c butter (softened)
2 c sugar
3 eggs
pinch of salt
3 medium ripe bananas (mashed)
1 t vanilla
2 c flour
1 t baking soda
--------------------
Beat sugar and butter until creamy. Beat in eggs, banana and vanilla. Combine flour, soda & salt; add to creamed mixture. Pour into 15 x 10 pan. Bake at 350 for 25 – 30 min until golden brown.
I just love baking with
brown eggs…
simply because they’re
pretty!
and
a vintage aqua mixing bowl
for the same reason!
Bake up the bars and then top with frosting of your choice
… instead of cream cheese frosting like usual
I chose to try a
new pudding/whipped cream frosting
that I snagged off pinterest here (via here)
& then topped it off with toffee bits
oh yeah baby!
enjoy !!

Thanks so much; these will be a BIG hit at our house (and welcome change from banana bread, a staple here). I've got the same Pyrex bowl. Just need me some chickens to lay me some brown eggs. Or maybe those aqua ones.... now those are some nice eggs. :) xo
ReplyDeleteMmmm, those sound delicious! And banana is one of my favorite flavors!
ReplyDeleteMaking these today! I have ripe bananas that need to be used up!
ReplyDeleteMade this today. I left the toffee bits off. Yummy! Thanks
