{Painted Mason Jars}

You might know that I’m in LOVE with
mason jars…

and now to feed my addiction further I’ve started
painting them
and have fallen even deeper in love

{no worries - I don’t think my hubby is at all jealous of this crush!}

How to Make
SHABBY DISTRESSED MASON JARS:

You start off the makeover by painting a jar black
(go look through your spray paint and I bet you’ll find at least some old half used can of black – or 7 cans like me!)

then once that dries, cover it with another color of your choice - here is a pretty cream spray paint

and then sand it up a bit

and you’re set

easy right?

what wonderful results!

and have sold some in the cute little shoppe I sell at

but I’ve HAD to keep some for myself

a SCRAPPY flower SCARF

I’ve been

playing

with fabric scraps

and whipping them into shape as

cute flowers and leaves

adding some buttons to finish it off!

It has been extra fun

because it doesn’t have to be perfectly sewn

to be perfect in my book!

The shabbier and scrappier the better!!

I’m ready to wrap up & brave the wind in my new scarf

A Lovely Little Gift Package

a beautiful little package

arrived here at the cottage

sigh…

from raising up rubies

first of all – look at this darling package!

and then all that was found inside

to think she crafted these in her amazing craft space especially for me???  sweet!!

BEST Apple Dessert EVER!!

My family has officially proclaimed this as the

BEST

Apple Dessert

Ever…

mmmm!

It’s is soooo easy

and yet produces a very very yummy result!

BEST APPLE DESSERT RECIPE

Topping -

1 cup baking mix

1/2 c packed brown sugar

3 T butter

Filling -

6 cups thinly sliced peeled apples (about 5 apples or so)

3/4 c baking mix

3/4 c milk

2 eggs

2 T butter, softened

1 t ground cinnamon

1/2 t ground nutmeg

1/2 t ground cloves

 

Start the topping by mixing baking mix and brown sugar and cut in the button with knives or a pastry cutter until crumbly, set aside

Grease a 13x9 pan, spread apples in the bottom of the pan.  In a large bowl, combine the remaining topping ingredients.  Pour over the apples and sprinkle the topping crumbles on top.  Place in preheated oven {350 degrees} and bake for 1 hour. 

We especially love it with some vanilla ice cream, perhaps a drizzle of caramel sauce, or some
homemade whipped cream – oh yeah baby!!
