awhile back – I showed you how we spiffed up & organized our garage entryway. Part of that spiffing was a vintage linen covered magnet board (hiding the garage door openers) which included this lacy hoop art
(you can read about the rest of the entry makeover here & other organizational posts here)
I thought I’d show you how I made that pretty lacy layered hoop art so you can make some yourself if ya want!!
I started off with some store bought linen napkins on clearance from a big red store that starts with T (you know!)
then I just stitched on layers of vintage lace, ruffled ribbon and various trims from my scrap supply
now place the sewn napkin in an embroidery hoop
trim and then hot glue down the edges to the back of the hoop
and ta-da – you have an completed tailored display piece
{PRETTY LAYERED VINTAGE}
LACE AND RIBBON HOOP ART
You can think of this as an opportunity to use some of your precious scraps. In this case, I used some of my grandmother’s lace and ribbon (which was also used when my mom made my wedding gown) and I currently have it displayed with pictures of my grandparents holding me as a baby…..ahhh
so very special, right?
ideas: maybe you could use some baby clothes or some of dad’s old ties or pieces of a vintage wedding gown.
