{Grape Julius Smoothie}???

Frothy...Yummy GRAPE Julius {Northern Cottage}

ummm……YuM!!!!  that is what I have to say about this new concoction!!

We’ve been having COLD DAYS here recently…so cold that they’ve closed schools.  So we’ve been on a creative marathon (picture kiddos crocheting, rainbow looming, lego building, baking, dreaded cleaning of the rooms, cooking, fort building, and all around playing kind of days!!)

So this FReeZiNG weather would, naturally, lead me to make a frosty, frothy, icy drink, right?  Perhaps weird but good!!  ok maybe I’m dreaming of summer days with my feet in the grass but for now I’ll take this drink.

frothy GRAPE Julius - YuM!! {Northern Cottage}

I was going to make orange julius (how do you say julius’s plural hmmm?) but didn’t have any orange juice but I DID have a frozen grape juice so this baby came to be…

GRAPE JULIUS Smoothie

1 can orange grape juice concentrate, slightly thawed
1 cup milk
1/2 cup  to 1 cup sugar (regular table sugar or powdered sugar to taste)

1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 cups ice

Pop all these babies in the blender and give it a whirl, pour into pretty glasses and ENJOY!!!

Tip – you could make it with a frozen strawberry juice too for a fun PiNK drink, too!!

Speaking of purple…

I’ve made some darling FuN purple garlands for one very very sweet customer’s upcoming wedding.  She ordered two garlands and is planning on using them across the back rows of chairs during her ceremony, then perhaps move them as a decor during the reception and then at home afterwards.  Versatile, I’d say!!

I’m not usually drawn to purple as much myself but these were sooo fun to make (and may or may not have influenced my drink of choice today!!)

I love that customers connect with me at the SHOP and ask if I can make this or that (and many times, we come up with something altogether different together!)  These interactions, collaborations and new product creations are such a lovely part of this shoppekeeping experience!

Happy happy day y’all!!

  1. Okay, you had me a julius. I love orange juilius, so this grape version must be delicious! I'll have to try it, but I do think I'll wait for it to warm up and bit so I can thaw out first! Thank you for sharing at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a lovely week! ~Deborah

  3. Oooohhh! I've been flipping through your posts! So much cuteness going on! Although I have been fading away from blogging (were getting ready for a pretty big change around our house) I opened up my Etsy shop with some new items. I would love for you to check it out and give a shout out if you like what you see. More signs are being added in the month of Feb! Thanks! www.prairiegirlhandmade.etsy.com

  4. Lots of purple passion going on here! The drink sounds delish and the garlands will be fabulous for her wedding. I'm not a purple person so much, but my bedroom was lavender when I was a teen. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
